Project description:
Financed by the Foreign Ministry's development cooperation funds, the North-South program that began in 2004 was to last three years. Africa south of the Sahara, Peru and Egypt were involved in the pilot project. Its aim is to achieve permanent collaborative relations between Finnish and developing countries' universities.

The North-South program offered a good continuation to the School of Art Education (University of Art and Design "Taik"/"Uiah"), which since the year 2000 has had an exchange agreement with the Ugandan Kampala-based Kyambogo University and with the School of Industrial Arts of the Makerere University. Both have a department for art education, which, in addition to teacher qualification, include studies in art, design and business.
